Quick answer
How to play
- Reveal one central card. Its rank becomes the target for the round.
- Deal the next cards to Andar and Bahar in the agreed alternating order.
- Stop when a card with the central rank is dealt. That card's side is the matching side.
Andar Bahar dealing rules
First reveal a centre card. Its rank, not its suit, is the target for the round. The remaining cards are dealt one at a time to the Andar and Bahar positions in the order agreed before starting.
Alternating order
A common format begins with Andar and then alternates: Andar, Bahar, Andar, Bahar. Other groups may start with Bahar, so state the starting side before any card is dealt.
Ending the deal
The deal stops immediately when a card matches the centre rank. For example, if the centre is a Queen, the first Queen dealt to either side ends the round, whatever its suit.
Example round
The centre card is 8. The deal proceeds Andar: Q, Bahar: 3, Andar: 5, Bahar: 8. The final card matches the centre rank, so Bahar is the matching side.

Remember
The important rule is rank matching, not suit matching. See rank in the glossary and compare with Teen Patti.
